Will you sign our petition to the presidential candidates, asking them to consider the health and safety of the world’s most vulnerable children in their decision making if elected? Read the petition text:
As the next potential leader of our country, you would shoulder a heavy burden. You’ll be facing a global pandemic, a struggling economy, and continued racial injustice. But the next president’s decisions will also impact ongoing humanitarian issues, like fighting global poverty and keeping children safe. I am a supporter of World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization helping children, families, and their communities overcome poverty and injustice. As such, I sincerely hope that, if elected, you will make these issues a priority.
Please stand firmly for continued bipartisan support for the foreign assistance budget, which addresses the root causes of poverty and allows the U.S. to respond to humanitarian crises and natural disasters around the world for just 1% of the federal budget. I’m proud that the U.S. leads with compassion by giving this aid based solely on need, not on any expectation of something in return.
God cares about the safety and health of children and families in poverty and calls us all to do the same. If elected, please consider these vulnerable lives in the decisions that you make and bills that you sign. During your term, I hope you will listen to the voices of the most vulnerable and create solutions that empower people living in poverty to survive and thrive, no matter where they live.
Thank you for being willing to serve your country by running for President of the United States. I pray that you will seek God’s wisdom for the many issues facing our country and then follow God’s principles for the common good.
No matter who wins this election, it will impact important policies that affect the most vulnerable children around the world. As followers of Christ and supporters of humanitarian programs that honor, uphold, and restore dignity and hope for millions around the world, we have a role to play in the process!
Proverbs 31 tells us to speak up for others and defend the rights of the poor – today is your chance to do just that! Your voice matters – and if we all speak up together, we can make a difference for families working to achieve better lives for their children. Stand with us and ask both candidates to seek God’s wisdom in their future decision making, have compassion on those in need, and continue the fight against global poverty!
