“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” — Matthew 25:35 NIV

Our world is still staggering under the weight of global events. Now, the world faces a crisis that we weren’t expecting: a hunger crisis.

Tonight, millions of people will struggle to simply put food on the family table. Today, millions of babies will not receive enough nutrition because their mothers are themselves malnourished.

Provide Emergency Food Assistance

Tell Congress to support emergency food assistance for children and families in Ukraine, as well as address the inevitable ripple effects of lost food exports to developing countries.

End Hunger in Conflict Settings

Our representatives have the opportunity to pass a Hunger Resolution that aims to ensure hunger and food access is never used as a weapon in time of crisis in communities.

Continued Support for Ukraine

As the crisis in Ukraine continues to unfold, it's more important than ever that the U.S. government remains a leader in providing ongoing assistance for refugees.

Take Action

A deadly combination of COVID, conflict and climate have conspired to put unbearable pressure on struggling countries and regions. The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has only made food shortages worse.

To put it in perspective:

  • Over 690 million people
  • An additional 83 to 123 million people will be chronically hungry due to the pandemic
  • An estimated3 million children have died from nutrition-related causes. That’s nearly 6,400 children every day.
  • Russia and Ukraine export almost one-third of the global wheat supply. Because of the conflict in Europe there have been severe spikes in food costs, pushing prices out of reach for the world’s poorest places.

But there is hope.

At World Vision, we have seen the effects of malnutrition and are working to reach millions through our programs. We know that famine is preventable and every child can go to sleep with a full belly.

But the need is bigger than one organization can handle.  Congress is considering a supplemental funding package for Ukraine. It will include funding for countries hard hit by food shortages and hunger.

Your voice is needed to contact representatives and tell them to pass critically needed legislation. Ask your Members of Congress to address the global hunger crisis TODAY.
